What began as a personal hunt for answers to an odd bit of internet drama morphed into an anecdotal history of fujoshi, yaoi & boys love in the US and my own personal experiences in these spaces from the early 2000s onward.
This downloadable PDF was meant to capture not only my personal history, but a brief historical overview of the fandom as it grew in the United States from the early days to the present day. This is my attempt to provide context for how we went from an enthusiastic niche interest to a well known part of the mainstream anime ecosystem.
